The Issue:

A Pakistani judge has been seriously injured and three policemen killed by a bomb in the city of Multan.

Mohammed Bashir Bhatti is an anti-terrorist judge who often hears cases against suspected militants.

He was travelling to court by car when the roadside bomb exploded. At least seven others were reported wounded.

No one has admitted planting the bomb. It follows attacks said to be in revenge for military raids on alleged militant bases near Afghanistan.

How’s Involved:

  •  Mohammed Bashir Bhatti
  • His two guards and driver
  • Three policemen
  • The terroist

How’s Affected and How?

  •  The families of Mohammed Bashir Bhatti, his two guards, his driver, and the three policemen are affected, because the now havelive with this horrible thing that happened.
  • The goverement, beacuse the are suppose to protect their country and their citizens

What would I do if I where directly involved?

I would contact the United States to help Afganistan to get rid of all these terrorists so Afghanistan can live like a normal country that osent have these problems every day, and I would also ask the goverement to do something about this, because they are not doing anything.

The judge suffered serious injuries

Heavy explosives were used in the attack

Wikispace Questions 2

February 13, 2007

What would you change about the final product (the wiki you created) if you were to do the assignment again?

Answer: If I were to do this project again I would had putten in some more information and pictures and I would also do another background and styles to make the wikispace look better.

Look at some of the other wikis from any class and find a few that you think are done exceptionally well. Tell me the name of the empire and the block, and then explain what you like about their wiki.

Ancient Ghana Block D did a splendid job. They put in a lot of information and also a lot of pictures next to the text. I’m also doing Ghana Empire, and I personal think that Block D did much better than us.

Great Zimbabwe Block D did also splendid. This group did some very good reasearch and the good very clear and good pictures. Personal I think they did really good.

Response on Philip’s Current Event

I did a new article called: Crowds mark anniversary of Hariri’s assassination despite bombings

Adress to Website: http://www.canada.com/topics/news/world/story.html?id=6f3598c2-9cc6-4680-bd42-769061c2907a&k=75651

This article is about tens of thousands of Lebanese packed into a city square Wednesday to mark the second anniversary of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri’s assassination as the government deployed hundreds of troops a day after bus bombings killed three people.

Question 1: What did you find interesting about this topic?

Answer: What I found intresting about this topic was that CIA Agents has kinapped German citizens, its really wierd. Why would
CIA Agents kidnap German citizens. Why where they even in Germany.

Question 2: What did you like about the initial blog posting?

Answer: I like how Philip had organized his information on his blog , but the bad thing was that he didn’t show any picture ofthe event he only showed a map over Germany.

Reflection 1 on Wiki Ancient Africa

February 12, 2007

Question 1: What did you learn from this task?

Answer: I learned a lot about the Ghana Kingdom. I learned how the Ghana people survived, and how they made a daily living. I think if I would have lived in that time I woulden’t survive a minute. All that hard working and stuff.

Question 2: What did you find difficult or easy? Why?

Answer: I found almost everything easy in this task, because I work a lot with wikispace, so that’s why. The only thing I found difficult was to find the right information, because I’m not that really good at searching for the perfect site.

Question 3: What would you change about the process you went through to complete the wiki if you were to do the assignment again?

Answer: If I were to do this assignment again I would do nothing differently, because I think that I did my best, and can’t do anything differently what I can think of.

Title of Article: Eight dead in Polish mining accident, rescuers struggle to reach 15 others
Date Published: Wed Nov 22, 4:56 AM

1: What new information has emerged?
~RUDA SLASKA, Poland (AFP) - Polish rescue workers have battled to reach 15 coalminers trapped 1,000 meters (3,300 feet) underground.

2. What did you find interesting about this topic?
I found this interesting because as a miner, there are big risks. Which makes it important to pay attention to safety, and training of miners? But it’s hard to make the mines safe, because Poland is a poor country and can not afford it.

3. What did you like about the initial blog posting?
I really liked how Daryl had explained this article. He gave most of the information; he just missed some Proper Citation Format. I also liked he presented it to the class. He didn’t stop and try to remember, because he had already memorized it. I hope Daryl will continue do as good in the future, and maybe even do better.

1.What is the issue: Saddam Hussein the former president of Iraq was accused of killing 148 people of his own people in the town of
Dujail in 1982, after a group tried to kill him. He has also been charged for using chemical weapons, and starting a war with
Iran in 1980. He has now been tried by the
Iraq’s Special Tribunal
(IST), and has now been sentenced to death by hanging.

Source: http://www.nationalgeographic.com/iraq/images/iraq-detailed-raster.gifWith him there also seven other people being tried.Their names are:

  • Barzan Ibrahim al-Hassan, Saddam’s half-brother. Thought to have tortured and killed thousands of people.
  • Taha Yassin Ramadan, the former vice-president. Thought to have been involved in some of the worst events carried out by Saddam’s government.
  • Awad Hamad al-Bandar al-Saadun, the former chief judge of the
    Revolutionary Court.
  • Abdullah Khadem Ruweid, Mezhar Abdullah Ruweid, Ali Daeh Ali and Mohammed Assam Al-Ali are officials with responsibility for the Dujail area.

Who is involved:

  • Saddam Hussein
  • Iraq’s Special Tribunal (IST)

Who is affected and how:

  • Citizens of
Iraq are affected, because most of them are happy that Saddam Hussein is arrested and brought in front of justice. Some are still supporting him and thinks that the trial is wrong.
  • United Nations (UN) is affected because they were involved in the Iraq war and they are supporting the new government of
Iraq as well as the trial of Saddam Hussein.
  • The victims of Saddams crimes are affected because they have lost their fathers, mothers or children.

What would I do if I was directly involved:

  • If I was part of the tribunal I would seek the truth about what had happened to the people in
Iraq in order to give Saddam a fair trial.

3. Preliminary Data & Inferences

1. The first challenge Iraq has is that its always in war for example they have been in I World War, II World War, and the Gulf War, I think they should just take a Chill Pill to cool down a bit.
2. Second challenge is that the UN Army is still in Iraq Guarding and trying to help Iraq, I think it would be a lot better for the UN Army to leave Iraq, so that they don’t have to be babies that are benign guarded all the time.
3. The last challenge I think that its great that finally Iraq got a government, but still look at all the other countries in the world almost already have a government, so Iraq has to do a lot of work in there country.
4. Reflection

Question: What did I learn from this task?
Answer:  I learned a lot about Iraq and how they are living as a economy, even though Iraq is a country were they have been fighting for example I World War, II World War, and the Gulf War.

Answer:  I learned how to use the source on Google Earth. I learned how to change text color, I learned how to make breaks (<br>), and I learned how to do bold text (<b>).

Question: Did I find this difficult or easy? Why?
Answer: I found this really easy because I have used Google Earth before, and as a Self-Directed Learner I learn really quick, so I had a really easy time doing this.

Question: What else would you like to learn about creating Google Earth maps?
Answer: I would like to know how to make the background different.

Answer: I would like to know how to put in pictures in the information.

What I learned from doing my nation

October 9, 2006

I thought it was really intresting that we all did these different countries, and did we all did so good doing this mini project. I learned really much doing this, I learned how to use the HMTL, I learned a lot about Iraq, and I got to know how other students in my class preaper to do things like this.

What I have learned from wikispaces

October 6, 2006

What did you learn while making this wiki?

I learned a lot of things to do for wikispaces, for example I learned how to link on wikispaces, I learned how to insert pictures, and I learned how to put in mind maps from Ispiration 7.5.

Did you enjoy making a wiki? Why or Why not?

I did really enjoy doing the wiki, because I learned so many things and it was fun working as a group.

Three Challenges in Iraq

October 2, 2006

Even though Iraq is a big a good country there are some things that Iraq has to think of doing to make the country better. The first challenge Iraq has is that its always in war for example they have been in World War I, World War II, and the Gulf War, I think they should just but away all weapons and organize and make the country better. Second challenge is that the UN Army is still in Iraq guarding and trying to help Iraq, I think it would be a lot better for Iraq if the UN Army, so that Iraq can be a country by there own. The last challenge is that is great that Iraq finally got a government, but still look at all the other countries in the world almost already have a government, so Iraq has to do a lot of work in their country. Iraq is a good country but I truly think that the have to work many things, I think if they would provide their citezens by maybe giving them some money and supplies to make the country the best.
